Privacy Policy
What data this site collects, and how it's used
1. Overview
odtoe.org does not require registration, has no user accounts, and does not host comments or on-site forms that collect personal data. The only data handled is (a) standard, automated analytics collected when you visit, and (b) anything you choose to send directly, e.g. by email or Telegram.
2. Automated analytics
This site uses three analytics/monitoring services to understand traffic and improve content:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — page views, approximate location (derived from IP, not stored as a precise address), device/browser type, referring site.
- Yandex Metrika — similar aggregate traffic and behavior analytics, primarily for the Russian-language audience.
- Vercel Analytics — privacy-oriented page-load and performance metrics from the hosting platform.
These services may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to distinguish visits. None of them are used here to build an identified profile of you personally; the site owner sees only aggregate statistics. Each provider's own privacy policy governs how it processes this data: Google — policies.google.com/privacy; Yandex — yandex.com/legal/confidential; Vercel — vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
3. Cookies
Beyond the analytics cookies above, the site sets one functional cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers your preferred language (Russian, English, or Chinese) so you aren't redirected on every visit. It carries no personal data and isn't used for tracking.
4. Embedded third-party content
Video pages on this site embed players hosted on YouTube. Loading an embedded player may let YouTube (Google) set its own cookies and collect data per its own privacy policy, independent of anything described above.
5. Data you send directly
If you email the author or message via Telegram using the links in the site's footer or contact page, whatever you share is handled as a normal personal email/message exchange — it is not published, sold, or used for any purpose beyond responding to you — and is also subject to the respective platform's (Gmail/Telegram) own privacy practices for that channel.
6. Your choices
You can block or clear cookies, and block analytics scripts, using your browser's own settings or common privacy/ad-blocking extensions; the site functions normally (aside from the language-memory cookie) without them.
7. Children's privacy
This site is a theoretical-physics research publication and is not directed at children; it does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
This Policy may be updated as the site's tooling changes. The current version always applies; material changes will be reflected by an updated date below.
